Lineups

Each team shall play two games per week and a total of 39 regular season games. Each team owner must submit lineups for each team his/her team will play. Lineups will normally be due on Monday and Friday not later than the starting time for the first NHL game being played on that date.

Lineups shall consist of one center, two wings, two defensemen, two other skaters from any position and a goalie. Each team shall also designate, in the order in which they are to be used, three overtime players. Team owners may designate in which game during an RHL playing period each player is to be used. If a specific game is not designated, the first game in which a player’s NHL team plays during the playing period shall be used. Normally a playing period shall include NHL playing dates of Monday through Thursday or Friday through Sunday.

Players whose NHL teams do not play during an RHL game period should not be used for that RHL game. In the rare instance in which neither of a team’s goaltending tandems plays during a specific RHL playing period, the designated goalie’s first game of the next RHL playing period shall be used for Monday through Thursday games and the last game of the goalie’s previous playing period for games of Friday-Sunday. If both of a team’s goalie tandems play only one game during a playing period and none in the other during a week, the goalie’s statistics will be double counted.

If an owner does not submit a lineup, the same lineup used in the previous game shall be used with the first NHL game played during the RHL playing period being used. A player whose NHL team does not play in such a situation will have zero points recorded for him. Team owners may continue to use the same lineup rather than submit a new one, but must submit either a new lineup or confirm they will continue to use the same lineup for the game that includes the first of each month in the RHL playing period. Failure to comply with this rule except under extenuating circumstances shall result in the team forfeiting that game and all succeeding games until a lineup is submitted. Any owner who forfeits five or more games during a season may be voted out of the league by a majority of the other owners.
